Dear Diary, Thursday, November 28th
I finally landed in Mumbai ! After months of planning this adventure, I’m finally getting to discover India’s culture. The truth is, I am completely jet-lagged and exhausted, but I could not be happier. Today, I visited a sacred Hindu temple, learning at the same time, Hinduism history and its part into the partition. I walked through Mumbai discovering many unusual sights such as slums, over-populated areas or cows’ altars. It has been a crazy day rhythmed by discovery and plenty of different feelings. It was fully fascinating.
Moreover, I have been terribly overwhelmed by the poverty of this country. Everywhere I went, people were walking by the streets begging for supplies. However, they have surrounded me by hope, happiness and positive thoughts, all day long.
Tomorrow, I am going to visit many cultural places such as local craftsmen, or India’s history museums. Anyway, after feeling all those emotions in only one day, I need a good night’s sleep. Let’s not forget that I am still jet-lagged.
